Secondary Distance Learning Plans (5-11)

Secondary Distance Learning Expectations

As we shared last week, all 6-8 grade secondary students will access assignments and lessons using Google Classroom. Teachers will post activities daily, by 10 a.m. Monday-Friday and will be available by Google Hangout, email or phone between the hours of 10 a.m.-12 p.m. and 1-3 p.m.

Students will be expected to participate in assignments posted by their teachers and then reply back with completed work. Teachers will use participation to record attendance. Teachers who have not heard back from a student may reach out to para representatives who will check in with the families by email, phone or other modes of communication.

Distance Learning activities will vary in the length of time required to complete the assignment. Each class assignment will take approximately 50-60 percent of the time students traditionally spend in class during a regular school day. This guidance may vary for some courses based on the course and content (i.e. Advanced Placement).
