Check Ride Prep is an online school that provides Free online courses to anyone that is interested in the field of aviation. The school currently provides 2 different courses that are free to students. The first course is Free Instrumental Pilot Ground School GS5 and the second is called Free Private Pilot Ground School GS8. The goal of these courses is to introduce them to the aviation field and help them prepare for the FAA exam which is required before going on to earn one’s pilot license or using any flight instruments.

Free Instrumental Pilot Ground School GS5

This free course begins on October 11th, 2020 and goes until November 5th, 2020. This course is made up of 12 lessons that cover topics like flight instruments, radio navigation, aviation safety, and other topics critical to aviation. upon completion of the course you will receive a certificate and you will be ready for the FAA exam which upon passing you can continue working towards additional flight privileges.

  • Consists of 12 lessons (12 days) each lesson is 4 hours long
  • Classes are live from 5:00-9:00 PM on the days that the lessons are held
  • Each lesson is recorded for review or flexible schedule
  • You must take all 12 lessons and quizzes in order to pass the class
  • Upon completion of the course you will receive a certificate
  • This course prepares you for the FAA exam
  • Every weekend there is a Q&A with the instructor for the length of the course 
  • There is a live chat with the instructor at the end of each live lesson

Free Private Pilot Ground School GS8.

Similar to the Free Instrumental Pilot Ground School this course goes more into what it takes to become a private pilot. This course consists of 16 lessons that cover topics like engines, electrical systems, flight instruments, radio operations, and aviation weather. This course a great start if you are looking for something that is more flexible.

  • In this course you go at your own pace and can stop and start at any point
  • Upon completion of the course you recieve a certificate
