COMPUTER/TECHNOLOGY TEACHER (ST PAUL, MN)

 

Design, write and use lesson plans; teach computer science/technology classes to middle school students through lectures, discussions, and demonstrations; implement appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials and equipment to ensure comprehension of learning styles and student needs; establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects, and communicate these objectives to students; prepare students for computer science/technology related competitions and standardized tests; coordinate school technology fairs and extracurricular activities as assigned; employ technology practices to strengthen the instructional process; help students assess and enhance their study methods and habits; produce formal and informal testing to evaluate student success; prepare classroom to enhance learning and to aid in physical, social and emotional development of students; provide input on book, equipment and material selection; establish communication rapport with parents, students, principals and teachers through meetings and conferences; gather, manage and maintain all reports, records and other documents required; be active in faculty and professional meetings, educational conferences and assist in staff committees as necessary.

Minnesota Math and Science Academy has been growing exponentially since its inception in 2014. In just 3 years, our student enrollment has exceeded 500 in Kindergarten through 8th grade.

Due to increasing demand from parents and the community, the school Board has not only decided to add more elementary grade classes, but also take a big leap by enrolling students to 9th grade in the 2017-18 school year. Thereafter, we will continue to add one more grade level every year until 12th grade.

Minnesota Math and Science Academy soon will become a one-stop center of academic excellence where we will take students from Kindergarten and deliver them all the way to college.
